No matter how you like your martini — gin, vodka, dry, wet, dirty, stirred or shaken (but does anyone other than James Bond actually drink their martinis shaken?) — there’s one universal rule: COLD IS KEY. Keep your spirit of choice in the freezer, or at least in the refrigerator, and use the largest ice cubes you can. This will help chill your martini without diluting it too much.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
60ml chilled gin
10ml dry vermouth
3 drops Fig leaf tincture

Method

  1. Combine the gin and vermouth in a mixing glass. Add some large ice cubes and stir to chill the mixture thoroughly. Strain (removing the ice) into a martini or coupe glass and add the fig leaf tincture.
