Put this margarita containing tomato and basil on the menu at your next pizza night (especially if you’re making margheritas!).

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
sea salt
wedge lime, plus 30 ml lime juice
60ml reposado tequila
30ml tomato juice
3–4 basil leaves
15ml Sugar syrup
1 cherry tomato to garnish

Method

  1. Put a little salt in a shallow bowl. Wipe the lime wedge around the outside rim of a martini or coupe glass to wet it. Tilt the bowl slightly so the salt gathers up one end, and dip and turn the rim of the glass in the salt until it is coated all around. Shake off any excess. Combine the remaining ingredients except the cherry tomato in a shaker with ice, and shake. Pass through a small fine-meshed strainer into the glass. Garnish with the cherry tomato on a cocktail pick.
