Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
50ml white rum
25ml dark rum
75ml pineapple juice
50ml coconut cream
pineapple wedges, to garnish

Method

  1. Use a blender to process some crushed ice, the white rum, dark rum, pineapple juice and coconut cream until smooth. Pour into a highball glass and garnish with pineapple wedges.

The Caribe Hilton - San Juan

  • Opened in 1949, The Caribe Hilton was the first Hilton hotel located outside the US. In 1954, the head barman Monchito was given the task of creating a signature drink for the hotel and the piña colada was born.
