"I would have to say one of my favourite cocktails is the Moscow mule. I ordered one on my first date with my husband at LoungeLover in East London. It’s a mildly stimulating mix of my favourite ingredients – lime, ginger beer and vodka. Poured over crushed ice, it’s so clean and refreshing, you can almost kid yourself it’s non-alcoholic and, therefore, good for you. I always feel energised after drinking one – but not two. That’s when you realise its hidden strength. It feels like such an innocent cocktail, but with hidden depths."

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1/2 lime, juiced, freshly squeezed
50ml vodka
100ml ginger beer

Method

  1. Squeeze the lime into a tall glass (or Moscow Mule mug), then toss in the used shell. Add 2 or 3 ice cubes and the vodka. Top up with cold ginger beer and stir.
