This Is a snack from the countryside, easily transportable for workers to take to the rice paddies. It is great on its own, but can also be served as a side dish for grilled and fried meat or fish.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
555g Sticky rice, cooked
125ml Rendered chicken fat

Method

  1. Take a small handful of the cooked sticky rice and form into an oblong shape with damp fingers, applying a small amount of pressure so the grains stick together.
  2. Heat the chicken fat in a frying pan and fry the rice logs in batches over high heat for about 3 minutes on each side, until slightly crunchy on the outside.
  3. Serve warm or cold.
