We were just as surprised to find out that the Vietnamese use avocado in smoothies, as they were on learning that we put it into salads - or even more strangely, on toast!

You can aIso use other fruits to make this smoothie: mango or dragon fruit are our favourites.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 ripe avocado
70g ice cubes, slightly broken up using a mortar and pestle
60ml condensed milk
190ml milk or soy milk

Method

  1. Peel the avocado and purée the flesh in a blender. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse until combined and chilled.
  2. Serve in two glasses, with long spoons to reach all the goodness at the bottom of the glass.
