This Indian version of coleslaw is crunchy, tangy, creamy and with the added zing of chaat masala. If you don’t want to use two colours of cabbage, just one would be fine.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 carrot, finely sliced or coarsely grated
100g red cabbage, shredded
100g white cabbage, shredded
1/2 small red onion, finely sliced
large handful coriander leaves, chopped
70g mayonnaise
70g greek yogurt
1 1/2-2 tablespoons lemon juice, to taste
1 1/2 teaspoons chaat masala, or to taste
freshly ground black pepper
salt

Method

  1. Squeeze out any juices from the shredded carrot. Place in a bowl and mix in the remaining ingredients. Taste and adjust the levels of lemon, chaat masala and seasoning until it tastes perfect to you. Take it to the table.
