Indian chilli nuts

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1-2 teaspoons garam masala
1/4 teaspoon chilli powder
200g almonds, blanched and peeled
200g cashew nuts
1-2 teaspoons sea salt flakes
6-7 small dried chillies, for garnish (optional)

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a wok or frying pan and add the turmeric, garam masala and chilli powder. Stir and then add the almonds and cashews. Sauté for 4-5 minutes over medium heat while stirring. Crumble over the sea salt flakes and stir again. Pour the nuts into a bowl and let cool. Garnish with the dried chillies if you like.
