Lettuce cooked with garlic

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 iceberg lettuce
60ml peanut oil
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 teaspoon caster sugar

Method

  1. Remove and discard the tough outer leaves of the lettuce. Remove the leaves, discarding the core, and tear the leaves into large pieces.
  2. Heat the oil in a wok over a medium–high heat, then add the garlic and stir-fry for 1 minute, or until fragrant. Add the lettuce leaves and toss to combine well, then add the soy sauce and sugar. Cover the wok and cook, tossing the wok occasionally, for 3–4 minutes, or until the lettuce is wilted but still has some crunch. Transfer to a large bowl and serve immediately.
