Ingredients

500g sugar
250ml water

Method

  1. METHOD 1 – high-speed blender

    Put the ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend on high until the sugar is completely dissolved (about 1 minute).
  2. METHOD 2 – blender

    Bring the water to the boil then pour it into a blender with the sugar. Blend until the sugar is completely dissolved (about 1 minute).
  3. METHOD 3 – microwave

    Put the ingredients into a microwave-proof container and stir well. Cook on high for 3–5 minutes. Remove and stir. If the sugar is not completely dissolved, repeat until it is.
  4. METHOD 4 – stovetop

    Put the ingredients into a saucepan, stir well and bring to the boil. When the sugar is completely dissolved, remove from the heat. Allow to cool a little and fine-strain.
