A great little seaweed side dish. Hijiki is a staple in a lot of Japanese and Korean cooking, and we think it should be here too.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
25g hijiki seaweed
125g shelled edamame beans
2 tablespoons see method for ingredients
1/4 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
pinch salt

Method

  1. Place the hijiki in a bowl, cover with cold water and leave to soak for about 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the edamame beans as per the instructions on the packet. Combine the hydrated hijiki, edamame beans, miso, toasted sesame oil, sesame seeds and the salt in a bowl. Transfer to a plate to serve.
