Making your own nut butter is addictive. Simply, nuts blitzed to form butter. Experiment with using different nuts.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
500g roasted unsalted peanuts, or use other nuts
1 tablespoon coconut or vegetable oil
1/4-1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1-2 teaspoons honey or sugar, or to taste (optional)

Method

  1. Place three-quarters of the nuts, the oil and the salt in the bowl of a food processor and process until the nuts break down, stopping occasionally to scrape the sides of the bowl as needed.
  2. Continue to process until the peanut butter is smooth, then add the remaining nuts and the honey or sugar if using, and process until it reaches the texture you like, crunchy or smooth.
  3. Transfer to a clean jar with a lid and put into the fridge to chill. Stored covered in the refrigerator, the nut butter will keep for up to 2 weeks.
