This is a super-quick way to get a tasty lunch or dinner together. Citrus matches tuna steak beautifully. This can be served with a green salad, cooked vegetables, stir-fried noodles, brown rice – whatever takes your fancy.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 lime, finely grated zest
1/2 see method for ingredients, juiced
1 teaspoon light soy sauce
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 tuna steak

Method

  1. Mix the lime zest and juice, soy sauce and oils together in a bowl and whisk well.
  2. Place the tuna in the liquid and rotate it a few times to ensure it is well covered.
  3. Heat a frying pan or griddle pan until hot, remove the tuna from the liquid and cook for 3 minutes on each side, drizzling small amounts of the liquid over the tuna constantly as it cooks (this helps to get the flavours into the fish and also gives it some colour).
  4. Cut the tuna into slices to serve.
