These are a great little snack to have on hand in the fridge when you feel the need for a chocolate fix. They are actually very nutrient-dense: the Brazil nuts are packed with selenium and the chocolate is rich in heart-healthy flavonoids. Bargain!

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
300g dark chocolate, broken into pieces
pinch cayenne pepper
30 brazil nuts

Method

  1. Quarter-fill a saucepan with boiling water (off the heat) and place a glass heatproof bowl over the pan so the base is not touching the hot water. Add the chocolate to the bowl with the cayenne pepper, then stir continuously until all the chocolate has melted.
  2. Add a few Brazil nuts at a time to the melted chocolate to coat, then fish them out with a fork and place them straight onto a baking sheet lined with baking parchment. Transfer to the fridge for about 30 minutes, for the chocolate to set.
