I do love a good crumble; for me, it has “family Sunday lunch” written all over it! While traditionally it would contain loads of sugar, it really doesn’t need to – a good selection of fruit will give it enough sweetness.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
75g blueberries
75g blackberries
1 ripe mango, diced
1 apple, cored and diced
1 cinnamon stick
1 star anise
50g porridge oats

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Place all the fruit and spices in a saucepan over a high heat and simmer until the fruits are starting to break down.
  3. Transfer to an ovenproof dish and sprinkle over enough oats to completely cover the fruit. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, or until the oats start to turn golden brown and crunchy.

    Whole grains

    Perfect for dessert
