Green drinks have become a bit of a healthy-living staple in recent years, and rightly so really. There’s only one drawback: they often taste like the contents of a lawnmower bag. But I’m pretty sure this one will bring anyone round to the world of green smoothies. Try it… I dare you!

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 handful curly kale
200ml apple juice
1 ripe banana
2 handfuls baby spinach

Method

  1. Pull the thick stems from the kale, leaving just the tender leaves.
  2. Add them, along with the other ingredients, to a blender and process on the highest setting until smooth. Serve immediately, with ice if you like.

Good for:

  • Bone health, cramps and muscular relaxation, stress and anxiety

Clever combination:

  • Let’s face it, if you blend lots of green stuff together, no matter how good it is for you, it will still taste like drinking cabbage water! By adding the sweet fruits, their flavours take over and leave the grassy taste of the greens behind, so it tastes just like a fruit smoothie.
