500g sugar

Method

  1. Put the sugar in a saucepan with 500 ml water and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer gently until the sugar has dissolved, being careful not to let the water level reduce.
  2. Leave to cool, then store in an airtight container in the fridge until required. The sugar syrup will keep for several weeks.
