Sprinkle liberally over any food to add a delicious bacon flavour.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
8 bacon rashers
2 tablespoons salt

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to its lowest setting.
  2. Heat a non-stick grill pan over a medium heat and cook the bacon until it is crisp. Immediately drain on paper towel and place another paper towel on top. Press lightly to extract as much grease as possible.
  3. Spread the bacon in a single layer between clean sheets of paper towel, on a large baking tray. Dry out in the oven for 6 hours.
  4. Place the bacon in a food processor with the salt and pulse until fine. Store in an airtight container at room temperature – do not put in the fridge. The bacon salt will keep for up to 2 weeks.
