Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 cups uncooked rice
4 cups cold water
2 whole cinnamon sticks
muslin cloth, for straining
sugar, to taste

Method

  1. Place rice in a sieve and wash well with cold running water.
  2. In a blender, process the rice with 1 cup of the water and cinnamon sticks.
  3. Strain the rice mixture through a muslin cloth or very fine strainer. Repeat the process until a white, powder-free liquid is achieved.
  4. Add sugar to your liking, stirring until it is dissolved.
  5. Add the remaining water and chill.
