Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 tablespoons olive oil
1.5kg whole topside steak
2 tablespoons vinegar
1/2 onion
4 sweet peppercorns
4 black peppercorns
4 garlic cloves
6 bay leaves
4 parsley sprigs
1 tablespoon salt
250ml pale ale or lager beer

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large pan. Add steak and brown.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and cook over medium heat for 1 hour.
  3. Remove meat from pan and slice thinly (around 5 mm thick). Return the steak to the pan and continue cooking for 30 minutes.
  4. Serve with mashed potato and a cold cerveza or two!
