These are devilishly buttery, delicate sweet pastries that look like long sticks and are so easy to make.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
110g sugar
4 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
60g good-quality butter, melted

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Combine the cinnamon and sugar together in a bowl.
  3. Brush 1 sheet of puff pastry with melted butter. Dust with the cinnamon and sugar mix. Top with another sheet of pastry, and again brush with melted butter and sprinkle the sugar mix on top. Repeat this process until all the pastry sheets have been used.
  4. With a very sharp knife, cut the pastry in half, and then in half again, and so on until you end up with 6 long strips of pastry measuring around 4 cm wide. Brush the top of the pastries again with butter, sprinkle with the sugar mix and place on the lined baking tray.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown, puffed up and smelling delicious. Remove from the tray and allow to cool on a wire rack.
  6. These will keep for a few days in an airtight container.
