Avocados feature in several of our smoothies in this book as they create a silky smooth and creamy texture without the need for bananas or dairy products. However, in this creamy smoothie, avocado is no longer a mere accessory, rather the star ingredient! We combine it with a generous amount of lime juice for freshness, as well as mango and dates for sweetness. The result is an ultra-lush and creamy smoothie with a flavour that reminds us of Key lime pie.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 ripe avocado, stone removed
1/2 ripe mango, stone removed
1/2 cup mango flesh
2-4 soft dried dates, pitted
250ml filtered water
1-2 limes, juiced

Method

  1. Add the avocado and mango flesh to a blender along with the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Blend on a high speed until completely smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust the sweetness and sourness to your liking by adding more dates and/or lime juice if necessary.
  4. Pour into two medium-sized glasses (one of which is featured in the photo) and serve cold.
