Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 eating apples
1cm fresh ginger
1 lemon
1/2 fennel bulb
1 teaspoon wheatgrass powder
pinch ground turmeric

Method

  1. Press the apples, ginger, lemon and fennel through a juice machine. Stir in the wheatgrass powder and turmeric. Serve in glasses with a few ice cubes and a straw in each.

Tip

  • Depending on the quality of your machine, leaf and grass vegetables can be a little tricky to juice. A good tip is to roll them into a tight ball before adding them to the juicer.

    If you do not have a juicer, use a blender and strain the juice through a nut milk bag, cheesecloth or a fine sieve.

    If you find a combination that you like, turn it into a smoothie by adding milk, avocado, yoghurt, banana, mango or frozen berries.

    You can easily make juices and smoothies into ice lollies (popsicles). Pour the mixture into lolly moulds, place a stick in each and freeze.
