We usually use a spoon to spread the haroset onto matzah, but it can also be cut into small squares to serve.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
375g dates, pitted
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup hazelnuts
1 orange, juiced

Method

  1. Put the dates in a saucepan, cover with water and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Allow the dates to cool in the saucepan for about 1 hour.
  2. Meanwhile, grind the nuts in a food processor. Add the cooled dates and orange juice to the nut mixture and process until well combined.
  3. Spread the mixture in a greased 20 x 14 cm tray and refrigerate overnight.
