Lush are the woods. We stand in your simplicity, your architecture. You are ancient, but as fleeting as water or darkness or nothing. Deep, life, sky when you’re dead, then the emerald and the red. Flanked by the expanse and the change, remain, as timber bones, the mulch and a million tones. Dank and soft, a safe home, unowned, we are lost in the gnarl of your limbs. Breathing, you are heaving, a harvest for me and for them. Invisibly sown, the strength of root, the fragility of shoots, the feasts, the fires and the fruits.
