This is a barbecue staple in our house. It’s also one of the two ‘dishes’ that Dad can make – the other being scrambled eggs! You can marinate anything in this – pork chops, chicken thighs, homemade beef burgers, pork and herb sausages. They are all really good with this glaze spread evenly over them an hour or so before throwing on to the barbecue. - Linsey

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
100ml rapeseed or vegetable oil
100ml tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon english mustard powder
50g soft, light brown sugar
salt
freshly ground black pepper

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Store in an airtight jar and chill until ready to use. It keeps well for up to 1 month.
