This is such a staple in our lunchtime lives. It's simple and cheap to make and it is a completely different creature from the shop-bought equivalent. I love it without any additions as I find the subtle flavours of sesame and lemon a perfect blend, but try our optional added flavours for extra enhancements to make it a very different dish. - Linsey

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
240g can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
30g light tahini paste
60ml extra virgin olive oil
2 small garlic cloves, crushed
1/2 unwaxed lemon, grated zest and juice
salt

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Taste for seasoning.

Optional added flavours

  • Dukkah

    Chopped fresh basil leaves and toasted, flaked almonds

    Red chilli and fresh coriander leaves

    Smoked paprika
