I’m not going to kid you, changing the way you eat breakfast is not easy. Cereals, toast, crumpets, pancakes (get the picture?) can’t be part of your life anymore. Those carbs are so hard to burn off, and the spreads you add to them load up the calories too.

Big deal. There are plenty of wonderful breakfast alternatives. I’m not suggesting you eat seven omelettes a week, but the fact is, eggs are a seriously efficient and versatile form of protein. And they are filling and satisfying – which means you won’t be eyeing off a muffin at morning tea.

So how about serving spicy huevos rancheros eggs for breakfast one morning? Or have you thought about trying watermelon and tangy feta? Or a warming bowl of porridge with sweet blueberries? Feeling better about breakfast?
