This is a more hectic ball, I’m not going to lie. They are nut-free, date-free, cacao-free and they are, well, green. However, despite their colour and the more ‘serious’ ingredients they contain (greens powder is serious, after all), they are what I call Next Level Delicious. Some days you just don’t want to eat kale (even though kale totally rules), and when that happens, you can feel good eating these instead.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
125g sunflower seeds
40g hemp seeds, plus extra for rolling
2 tablespoons super greens powder
1/2 teaspoon matcha powder
45g desiccated coconut
30g vanilla flavoured plant-based protein powder
2 1/2 tablespoons coconut oil
2 1/2 tablespoons raw honey
or maple syrup

Method

  1. Place the sunflower seeds, hemp seeds, greens powder, matcha powder, desiccated coconut, protein powder, coconut oil and honey in your food processor or blender and pulse until combined.
  2. Take about a tablespoon of the mixture at a time and roll it into 2.5 cm balls. Roll the balls in the extra hemp seeds to coat them lightly then place in an airtight container and refrigerate or freeze them. These will keep for up to 2 weeks in the fridge, and a couple of months in the freezer.

NOTE

  • Hemp seeds can be substituted for another seed, such as sesame seeds.
