Some days you really just want a chocolate ice cream and for those occasions, these really are the bomb diggity! They’re the absolute perfect combo of smoothie and ice cream – you really can’t go wrong!

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 bananas, peeled, about 220 g
1/4 ripe avocado
125ml almond milk
1 taqblespoons cashew butter
or seed butter
2 medjool dates, pitted, about 40 g
2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients in your food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Spoon the mixture into six 85 ml popsicle moulds and place in the freezer for a couple of hours or until partially frozen. Push a popsicle stick halfway into each one, down the middle, and freeze for another 2 or so hours or until they are frozen hard. To serve, dip the moulds briefly in hot water to loosen then carefully pull each one out.

NOTE

  • Throw in some optional extras – chia seeds, goji berries and cacao nibs, for example – as you see fit.
