‘Golden milk’ is a great way to end your day, and the perfect after-dinner beverage. I find hot chocolate contains too much caffeine for a lot of people to enjoy at night, so this drink is an excellent alternative. Loaded with beneficial spices, it goes beyond just being warming and comforting. Use any plant-based milk you prefer here.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
500ml almond, coconut or hemp milk
1 1/2 teaspoons ground tumeric
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground cardamom
1 pinch ground ginger
1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg
1 teaspoon bee pollen
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
or 1/4 teaspoon vanilla powder
2 tablespoons raw honey, maple syrup or coconut nectar
1 pinch ground chilli, if you like it spicy!

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over low heat, stirring every so often. Once warmed to your liking, pour into two cups and serve.
