Chocolate crackles never fail to take me back to my childhood. Being at parties nibbling on these was just the best! I knew that even though I had become an adult, I still wanted these in my life, so I created this much MUCH healthier, yet just as tasty, version!

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
90g puffed brown rice
120g puffed quinoa
250ml coconut oil
80ml rice malt syrup
40g carob powder
90g desiccated coconut
85g cacao powder
1 teaspoon rose water syrup, (optional)
2 tablespoons slivered pistachio nuts
2 tablespoons rose petals
125g xylitol
or 125g stevia

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C, if you want a cooked version of the crackles.
  2. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix together until the puffed brown rice and quinoa are well coated. Spoon into individual paper cases.
  3. Now you have a choice. Either pop the crackles straight into the refrigerator to set if you would prefer a raw version, or cook in the oven for 10 minutes first before placing in the refrigerator!
  4. Leave to set for 20 minutes and eat!
