Of all the root vegetables beetroot (beets) are by far the leader in terms of health and nutritional benefits. Their earthy and sweet taste is just a disguise for their liver cleansing abilities. A strong antioxidant and blood purifier, beetroot also contains glutamine, an amino acid, essential to the health and maintenance of the intestinal tract.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 large beetroot, cleaned and stems removed
2 carrots, thoroughly scrubbed but not peeled
1/2 cucumber, rinsed
125g fresh cranberries, or any other seasonal red fruit such as blood orange, watermelon or pomegranate
2.5cm piece of fresh ginger, peeled

Method

  1. Simply, pass all the ingredients through a juicer and serve.
