Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 tablespoon annatto seeds
125ml vegetable oil

Method

  1. Heat the annatto seeds and oil in a small saucepan over low heat. Heat just until the oil begins to simmer; don’t overheat or the seeds will turn black.
  2. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool, then strain the oil into a jar. It will keep for several weeks in a cool, dark place.
