Spinach and sesame salad is a must-eat in Japan. We keep it in the fridge to eat daily.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
250g frozen spinach
1/2 tablespoon white sesame seeds, crushed in a mortar and pestle
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon caster sugar
1/2 tablespoon sesame oil

Method

  1. Put the spinach in a saucepan and add just enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the spinach has defrosted. Drain and, when cool enough to handle, squeeze out all the water.
  2. Put the spinach in a bowl and mix in the remaining ingredients. Toss and serve.
