Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
150g plain flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
310ml milk
500g sausages
30g dripping or lard

Method

  1. Sift flour and salt in a bowl. Make well in centre, add egg and milk and gradually mix to a smooth batter. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Fry sausages in fat in flameproof baking dish for 5 minutes or until browned on all sides. Pour batter over sausages and bake in a preheated hot oven (200°C) for about 30 minutes or until risen and brown.
