Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
30g butter
1/2 cup honey
1 egg
1 cup plain flour
A pinch salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup sultanas

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a tube loaf tin. Cream the butter and honey until light. Add the egg and beat in well. Sift the flour with the salt and baking powder. Fold into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, walnuts and sultanas. Spoon into the prepared loaf tin and cover with a lid (if it has one). Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Serve warm or cold, in slices, buttered.
