MRS: This was a family fave growing up and would make an appearance around 5 pm on a weekend arvo. For me, Jatz can never be replaced by the Savoy alternative that is so readily found here in Victoria, though you can of course sub in your own favourite cracker. These are perfect for taking into the garden on a lazy afternoon (and Ma would say, best served with a cold beer).

Method

  1. Layer up a Jatz cracker or other savoury cracker with a similar-sized slice of cheddar and a slice of sweet spiced gherkin (pickle). Eat straight away, then repeat as you like.
