Cake

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 cups self-raising flour
1/2 cup wholemeal self-raising flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup sugar
185g butter, melted
1/2 cup water
3 eggs, lightly beaten
3 apples, peeled and sliced

Topping

Quantity Ingredient
60g butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Method

  1. For the cake: place wholemeal flour in bowl, add sifted flour and spices. Mix in butter, water and eggs, and lastly add apples. Pour into tin.
  2. To make the topping:, melt butter and mix in dry ingredients. Pour over cake mixture and cook for 1 1⁄4 hours at 180°C. Serve warm with whipped cream.
