There’s a lovely chocolate-filled biscuit in Australia called Kingston (a big childhood favourite of mine), and these little beauties are the Italian equivalent. Nutty, crunchy, chocolatey goodness.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
120g blanched hazelnuts, toasted
160g icing sugar
125g butter, softened
1 small orange, finely zested
160g plain flour
150g nutella

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Place the hazelnuts and sugar into a food processor and blend until the nuts are finely ground.
  3. Place this mixture into a large bowl with the butter and orange zest. Using electric beaters, whisk well. Gently fold in the flour until it’s just combined.
  4. Roll half teaspoons of the mixture into balls and place on the baking tray, spaced about 5 cm apart. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden and crispy. When cooled slightly, gently transfer them to a wire rack to cool down completely.
  5. Add a little dollop of Nutella over the flat side of each biscuit and press another biscuit on top, flat sides together.
  6. Serve with coffee.
