Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1/4 iceberg lettuce
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sweet relish
1 red onion
4 Buns
8 slices smoked streaky bacon
1 tablespoon grapeseed oil
4 minced beef patties
4 slices cheddar cheese
Hamburger sauce

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Finely slice the lettuce and mix with the mayonnaise and sweet relish. Peel and finely slice the onion.
  3. Heat the rolls in the oven for 5 minutes. Fry the smoked streaky bacon in a frying pan for 7–8 minutes until nice and crispy.
  4. Fry the minced beef patties for 1–2 minutes on each side in the oil over a medium–high heat. After turning the patties over, add the slices of onion around them to cook slightly.
  5. Cut the rolls in half. Spread the bottom half with the lettuce mayonnaise, with a pattie top, slice of cheese, some onions, smoked bacon, and finish with the hamburger sauce (you may not need all of it). Close the bun and repeat with the other 3 rolls. Pop them into the oven for 2–3 minutes to reheat through.
