The combination of sweet and sour in this recipe balances perfectly to create a delicious and refreshing drink that will have you coming back for more. Made with fresh cherries, this cocktail really shines.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
125ml merlot
60ml reposado tequila, (see Latin Larder)
60ml freshly squeezed orange juice
60ml freshly squeezed lime juice
60ml agave syrup, (see Latin Larder)
100g fresh pitted cherries
dash cherry brandy
150g crushed ice

Method

  1. Pour the merlot, tequila, orange juice, lime juice and agave syrup into a mixing pitcher and stir to combine.
  2. Separately muddle the cherries with a dash of cherry brandy, to extract most of the juice.
  3. Strain the cherry juice into a blender. Add the wine mixture and crushed ice and blend to combine.
  4. Pour into chilled margarita glasses to serve.
