This is a very richly flavoured cocktail that is best served as shots — the peanuts and condensed milk give it a truly unique taste that is well worth trying. Substitute vodka if cachaça is unavailable.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1/2 cup unsalted peanuts
1/4 cup cachaca
2 tablespoons tinned condensed milk
6 ice cubes, crushed

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Spread the peanuts out onto a baking tray and cook for 10–15 minutes, or until golden brown. Set aside to cool.
  3. Once cool, transfer the peanuts to a small food processor and process to make a paste. Combine the peanut paste and the remaining ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  4. Pour into eight shot glasses, to serve.

Note

  • You can substitute 1/3 cup freshly ground peanut butter instead of making the peanut paste if you are short on time.
