Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 tablespoon water
2 teaspoons sugar, or more to taste
1/2-1 red chilli, chopped
3 garlic cloves, sliced
2 tablespoons anchovy sauce
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon fish sauce
roasted crushed sesame seeds, for garnish

Method

  1. Heat the water and sugar until the sugar has dissolved and then cool. In a mortar mash the chilli and the garlic to a fine paste. Mix in well everything else except the sesame seeds. Pour into sauce dishes and sprinkle crushed sesame seeds on top as a garnish.
