Hummus, marinated tuna & sesame seeds

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 thick slice bluefin tuna
4 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
6 slices wholemeal bread
6 tablespoons hummus
4 sprigs coriander
salt
pepper

Method

  1. Marinate the tuna in the olive oil and soy sauce mixture in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, drizzling regularly with the marinade. Heat a frying pan over a high heat for 2–3 minutes. Remove the tuna from the marinade, cover one side only with sesame seeds, then place in the hot frying pan with the sesame seed side down. Cook for 3 minutes, then take out the tuna. Set aside the sesame seeds that remain in the bottom of the frying pan. Spread each slice of bread with 1 tablespoon of hummus. Snip the coriander. Cut the slice of tuna lengthwise into 12 slices. Top each slice of bread with two pieces of tuna. Sprinkle with coriander and the set-aside sesame seeds. Season with salt and pepper.
