Avocado and oranges are a wonderful combination. Where you grow oranges you can also grow avocados. Where I live, it is not uncommon to see an avocado plantation with citrus groves on either side. Some rocket, radicchio or frisée lettuce provides a nice bridge between the oranges and the avocado.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 heads red radicchio
2 oranges
1 large ripe avocado
a handful rocket
extra-virgin olive oil, to taste
a few drops lemon juice
salt flakes

Method

  1. Select the better radicchio leaves and tear into bite-sized pieces. With a sharp knife, cut away the pith from the oranges and cut out segments between the membranes. To assemble, cut the avocado in half and peel. Dice the flesh.
  2. In a bowl, mix the rocket, avocado, orange and radicchio. Dress with oil, lemon juice and salt flakes.
