Noodles are absolutely brilliant with all sorts of oriental style meals. It’s easy to do a big curry or stir-fry and then have some gorgeous noodles to eat it with. They are brilliant in salads and soups, too. Cooking noodles really depends on which type you choose. Rice noodles are perfect just left in a bowl and covered with boiling water; egg noodles need to be boiled. Hardly rocket science, however.

Egg noodles

Ingredients

350g egg noodles

Method

  1. Bring a pan of water to the boil, and then add the egg noodles. Cook for 4 minutes.
  2. Drain and serve, or add to a stir-fry dish.

Rice noodles

225g rice noodles

Method

  1. Place the noodles in a bowl and cover them with boiling water.
  2. Leave to stand for 5 minutes until soft. then drain and serve, or add to a stir-fry dish.
