Because we use such rich yoghurt, in summer, when the heat is intense, many Indians enjoy a good lassi (particularly mango or other fruit ones) instead of a meal (or they might just go for a light snack).
You can make other fruit lassis the same way, using a large handful of strawberries or raspberries, a peeled peach (with the stone removed), or a peeled, seeded papaya. You may like to sharpen your lassi with a squeeze of fresh lime juice, too.
